The Westfield High School girls track and field team made history on Saturday when the Blue Devils captured the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 Sectional Championship at Ridge High School.

It was the first sectional title for the girls86.

Sean O’Brien took second in the 100-meter dash in 12.21 and second in the 200-meter dash in 25.17.  Darcy Scheiner was a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 58.24.

Anna Kylish was third in the 800-meter run in 2:21.85. In the 1600-meter run, Emma Pranke came in seventh in 5:28.02, and Anna Youssef placed eighth in 5:30.13. Pranke came in fifth in the 3200-meter run in 11:28.83, and Youssef placed seventh in 11:40.13.

Lily Petrie was seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.58.

The 4×100 meter relay team edged Scotch Plains-Fanwood to place first in 48.54, and the 4×400 meter relay team came second in 3:57.25. The 4×800 team was a winner in 9:43.89.

Gabriella Demeter took first in the high jump in 5-6 and third in the long jump in 17.5. Priscilla Dayon was a first-place winner in the javelin event in 123-3.
