Volleyball star Vivian Roberts has been named Summit’s Union County Conference Girls Athlete of the Week.
Roberts, a senior outside hitter and a Captain for the Hilltoppers, has made an impact on the volleyball team from the first day she stepped onto the court back in her sophomore year.
She has been an impactful part of the squad, and has made many contributions both as a player and a teammate. From a player perspective, she is only one of three female Summit volleyball players and only one of five volleyball players to ever notch 300 kills for her career in school history. Vivian is currently chasing the all-time kills record, the kills per set record and the total points scored record for a career and single season.
It is no coincidence that the last three years have been the most successful in program history from a combined record and state/county combined performance. Vivian earned the respect of her teammates last year by taking charge of the team’s major events and being a leader on the team to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment. Vivian has has also been part of three (and soon to be four) American Volleyball Coaches Association Academic All-American Teams (Honor Roll Status last two years), so her impact on the team extends into the classroom as well. In short, Vivian Roberts will have left an impressive legacy on the Summit Lady Hilltoppers volleyball team when her career comes to a close.
