Joe Turek - Arthur L. Johnson: This past week, Joe had four tackles and a TFL defensively, while rushing for 122 yards on 21 carries and four touchdowns offensively to lead ALJ to a 43-14 victory over conference rival Bernards. In the game, the junior surpassed a milestone of over 1,000 rushing yards in his career. Joe is a hardworking, intelligent athlete who truly goes above and beyond every day in practice to ensure the team can perform at its best. He is a selfless player, and only cares about his team and winning. His tenacity is contagious and he is always motivating and pushing the other athletes on the team. In addition to being a great athlete and teammate, he is a phenomenal student and is always putting his school before football (which is no easy task).

Katie Prestinari – Arthur L. Johnson: Katie, a senior forward for ALJ , has been a huge contributor to the teams 4-0 start. She is incredibly versatile and has a great last touch on the ball. Transitioning at the end of last season from a defensive position, Prestinari’s ability to find the cage has been well utilized so far this season, and her defensive inclinations make her a difficult opponent to get by up front. She has scored five goals and helped on four others in the Crusaders first four games.

Kayla Da Cruz – Benedictine Academy: Kayla is a four-year starter for the Academy soccer team. For the past two years, she has been the captain of her team. She is a versatile player, playing both midfield and defense. Last season, she was named the top soccer player in the Union County Conference. Kayla has 12 career goals and 16 assists.

Addison Chang - Cranford: Addison, a senior on the varsity soccer team, scored the game winner in the final minute of double overtime to lead the Cougars to a 2-1 victory against Nutley. He got on the board again with a first half goal to help the team to a 2-1 win over Plainfield on Saturday.

Maggie Murray – Cranford: Maggie, a freshman on the varsity soccer team, scored three goals in the season opening victory against Union Catholic and displayed great effort against #7 ranked Hunterdon Central.
