Teen star Sydney McLaughlin, who this summer became the youngest member of the U.S. Olympic track and field team since 1972, was honored by Union Catholic High School on Thursday morning at the school in Scotch Plains.
McLaughlin, a senior at Union Catholic, qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles at the age of 16, and advanced to the semifinal round in the 400 hurdles at the Olympic Games in Rio last month.
