Lindsay Hausman of Kent Place, one of the top distance runners in the state, announced her college plans on Monday night.
The winner is …………..Duke University!!!
Hausman, who is coming off a very impressive victory in 18:33 (tied for the fastest of the day) at the Shore Coaches Invitational on Saturday, also also visited Princeton, Northwestern, Harvard, and Dartmouth.
Hausman has had an amazing career at Kent Place.
As a sophomore in 2021, she won the State Outdoor Non-Public A title in the 3,200, and was second in the 3,200 at the Meet of Champions.
Her junior year was even more spectacular.
Last fall, Hausman placed second at the State Non-Public A Championships XC Championships, ran a Holmdel PR of 18:29 to finish sixth at the Meet of Champions, and ran 18:48 to finish 22nd at the Eastbay Northeast Regional Championships.
Hausman followed that up with a great indoor season last winter, winning the 3,200 at the Non-Public A Championships and placing fourth in the 3200 at the M of C. Then last spring, she ran huge PR’s of 4:52.43 for 1,600 and 10:34.97 for 3,200, and placed second in the 1,600 and 3,200 at the State Non-Public A Championships.
