FIRST ROUND of BOWLING TOURNAMENT
TUESDAY, JAN. 17th — Open to ALL schools / Varsity teams,
3:00 p.m.
TEAM TOURNAMENT FINALS / CHAMPIONSHIP
THURSDAY, Jan. 19th — Top eight (8) schools / teams from
Tuesday’s competition advance to team finals (3:00 p.m.)
INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT FINALS / CHAMPIONSHIP
FRIDAY, Jan. 20th — The top scoring bowlers (male and
female divisions) from Tuesday’s competition advance to the
individual finals (3:00 p.m.)
TIMES for ALL Competitions:
2:45–Practice begins
3:00– Competition begins
*** PLEASE NOTE — NO school / team is to practice /
pre-bowl at Jersey Lanes BEFORE 2:45 on any of the dates
of the UCT … Please make necessary arrangements to arrive
at Jersey Lanes close to 2:30 days of UCT Bowling.
ENTRY FEE — $350 per school.
TEAM FORMAT — Tuesday’s bowling (Jan. 17th) will be the
traditional five-bowler / three-game format. The eight teams /
schools with the highest team totals on Tuesday advance to
Thursday’s team finals.
TEAM FINALS — The Baker format will be used on Thursday
(Jan. 19th). Baker format has all five bowlers bowl two
frames. The top eight scoring teams from Tuesday’s action —
bowled in the traditional style — will advance to the Baker
Tournament finals. Teams will be seeded into a bracket —
based on Tuesday’s results — and play a best-of-five format in
the quarterfinals, semifinals and final.
INDIVIDUAL FINALS — The Individual Finals will take place
on Friday (Jan. 20th), when top scoring bowlers from
Tuesday’s competition (top 15-20 percent depending on
number of participants) bowl another three games … Top five
boys and top three girls (depending on number of
participants) advance to a step-ladder format for the finals.
