Delaney Farley is Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s Union County Conference Female Athlete of the Week.
At the NJSIAA, North Jersey, Section 2 Group 3 Championships on Feb. 10 at the Bennett Center in Toms River, Farley, a junior, won the 55-meter dash for the second straight year,.. She was tied for the fastest seed time going into the final, but really ran a nice race in the final and won in convincing fashion. Her winning time was 7.26 and second place was 7.44. That is a significant margin in the 55 dash. Delaney has been able to step up in these situations. She’s extremely competitive and it showed in the final.
Farley, who also won the 55 dash at the Union County Championships this season, has now captured four sectional titles in her remarkable career. She won the 100 and 200 dashes at the sectional championships last spring, and hs now won back-to-back titles in the 55 dash.
