The top-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood boys bowling team won the Union County Tournament by defeating third-seeded Union, 3-1, in the final round of the Baker format at Jersey Lanes in Linden.

It was the first time that the Union County Tournament used a Baker Format and a best-of-five series was implemented. Scotch Plains-Fanwood took a commanding 2-0 lead by winning 200-162 and 193-186 in the first two games before Union tried to stage a comeback with a 173-145 victory. Then, the Raiders clinched the title with a 214-159 victory in the fourth game.
