Athletes of the Week – May 8 – 14

Lindsay Faria – Linden: Lindsay is a three-year starter for the girls varsity softball team. She plays both left & centerfield for the Tigers and currently leads the team in hitting, for the second year in a row. Last week, she went 8 for 12, batting .666, scoring five runs with five RBIs, a double, triple, and home run.

Luis Rodriguez – Linden: Luis is a junior captain for the boys volleyball team.He had 41 kills, 30 digs, and eight service aces through the first seven volleyball matches of the season. He maintains a 93 grade point average and is a member of the French National Honor Society. In addition to playing volleyball, Luis is also a guard on the boys basketball team.​

Justin Arnold – Roselle Park: Justin is four-year varsity letter winner on the track team. He is a varsity captain of this year’s team. Justin has been a two-time Meet of Champions competitor in discus. This past weekend he took 1st place in the boys discus in the Valley Division at the conference meet. Justin also set the Valley Division meet record in boys discus with a throw of 156’8″.

Casey Crown – Roselle Park: Casey is a four-year letter winner on the golf team. She placed 3rd in the conference tournament two years in a row (tournament comprised of both boys and girls and is currently ranked 36 out of 456 female golfers in the State. The team captain has a stroke average of 39.9 and was named Most Valuable Golfer two years in a row. Her grade point average of 4.4 on a 4. scale qualified her to be the Salutatorian of the class of 2017.
