Oak Knoll School junior Lindsay Criqui ’18 finished first in the 100-yard backstroke at the Union County Championship at Rutgers University on Sunday, January 21, 2018.
Criqui, a Colgate University commit, finished with a time of 58.27 to earn her third-consecutive backstroke title.
Criqui’s performance, which also included a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, capped off a tremendous day for the Royals, as the team qualified for the Meet of Champions later this season in both the 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Oak Knoll’s 200-yard medley relate team finished third overall at the county tournament with a time of 1:53.43.
Last year, Criqui, of Essex Fells, finished in first place in both the backstroke and individual medley events. She also won the backstroke event in 2016. After her impressive 2017 county performance she was selected as Athlete of the Week by the Union County Conference along with Gillian Lawlor ’17.
