Another week of Mid-State 38 football is in the books. Here are three things we learned from Week 6.

1. Cranford shows life

Cranford got off to a rocky start, falling to Somerville and Rahway in two of its first three games. But the Cougars showed major resilience and took down a talented Summit team, 37-7, to pull to 4-2 on the season. The division title is unlikely, but Cranford is certainly rounding into shape for the postseason.

2. Bound Brook setback

Bound Brook has been one of the biggest surprises in the Mid-State 38 this season, but suffered their first loss of the season on Friday against Bernards, 48-7. Nonetheless, the Crusaders are in good shape heading into the postseason and still stand at 5-1 on the campaign.

3. More positive signs for Elizabeth

Elizabeth may have fallen to Westfield, but they kept it close in a 13-7 defeat. Considering how rough the start of the season was for the Minutemen, hanging with a team high in the NJ.com Top 20 certainly shows signs of growth for the program.
