Robert Roth is New Providence’s Union County Conference Male Athlete of The Week
Roth is a senior leader on the New Providence baseball team. Last week, Robby propelled the Pioneers to victory in the opening round NJSIAA sectional playoff game against Hoboken. Robby pitched 6 shutout innings, giving up only 4 hits and walking 1. Robby accumulated 7 strikeouts in his six innings of work. At the plate Robby went an impressive 3 for 3 with an RBI, accounting for 3 of the team’s 6 hits on the afternoon.
On the season, Robby has amassed an impressive 2.87 ERA with 37 strikeouts over 39 innings pitched against some of the best competition in the county and local area (as the Pioneers compete in the Watchung Division). Robby is also an excellent leader for the team and will continue his playing career collegiately at Clark University next year.
