Grace Kinum is New Providence’s Union County Conference Female Athlete of the Week
Kinum has continued to lead the Pioneers Girls Basketball team in this, her senior season. Over the course of her historic 4 year varsity career, Grace has helped the team to win the Watchung Division in Union County each season. Additionally, she and her teammates have won 2 consecutive Union County Championships and are in the midst of this year’s tournament in a quest for a third. Finally, last season Grace helped lead the team to a Group 2 State Championship. Grace went over the 1000 point mark earlier this season as well, becoming the 18th ever NPHS basketball player to top that historic mark (currently sitting at 1,265 points and counting).
This past week, Grace has displayed her all around basketball abilities on the court for the Pioneers, highlighted by her first ever triple-double in a thrilling 84-71 win over St Thomas Aquinas – contributing 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Grace will continue her basketball collegiately next year at Bowdoin College.
