Volleyball stars Nick Schmidt, Zach Chung, Tim Ennis, and Jeremy Zimmerman were named Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s Union County Conference Male Athletes of the Week.
The “Core Four” of Schmidt, Chung, Ennis, and Zimmerman led the Raiders boys volleyball team to back to back Sectional Championships and the Group 3 State Championship in dominating fashion.
“All four of these players have been instrumental in taking this program to the next level in the last three years,” said SPF coach Brock Hur. “Nick has been the tactician of the group, considered the best setter in the state, and running the offense at such a high level for three years. Zach has been the defensive rock that solidifies our game plan. Jeremy plays with the heart of a warrior, never giving in to pressure to perform. Lastly, Tim has been the catalyst for our offense, supplying the firepower as one, if not the best, overall player in the state.”
