Evan Weber is Union Catholic’s Union County Conference Male Athlete of the Week.
Weber, a senior, dropped a huge course PR of 15:39.2 to win the Watchung Division race to lead the Vikings, ranked no. 8 in the state, to a 28-47 win over-runner-up Westfield on Thursday at Oak Ridge Park in Clark.
In addition to his victory at the Conference Championships, Weber also ran 15:24, his lifetime best on any course, to place third in the Senior Division at the Battle of Ocean County Park last month, and has run 16:38 at Holmdel Park and 16:33 at Bowdoin Park this season.
Weber will be one of the favorites to win at the Union County Championships on Thursday, October 24 at Warinanco Park in Elizabeth.
